Overview
The minor in theatre allows creativity to complement the core of a liberal arts education and use theatre as a laboratory to explore how humanities, sciences and other arts intersect. Students develop artistic discipline in acting, directing, and design for theatre while enhancing students' historical and analytical skills through an appreciation of theatre history and dramatic literature.

Candidates for a baccalaureate degree must fulfill the requirements for a major as listed in the courses of study bulletin. The courses of study bulletin is the official source of information regarding degree requirements, academic policies, and academic majors and minors at Trinity University.

Pathways Curriculum

Students must complete the Pathways Curriculum in order to receive a baccalaureate degree. The Pathways Curriculum has six curricular requirements, and three optional elements that provide the foundation in the liberal arts and sciences for all the bachelor’s degrees awarded by Trinity University. Through these requirements, students acquire the necessary skills and disciplinary perspectives to navigate complex questions at Trinity and in their post-graduate lives.
University Theatre Company
Learn by doing—be part of one of Trinity’s productions, from performance and choreography to stage management and running crews.
Acting
Develop acting skills by practicing techniques meant for individual and ensemble performances.
Costume Design
Study the artistic techniques and principles used to create costume designs.
Experiential Design
Explore the art of conceptualization, visualization, and creativity behind interactive, immersive, and experience based designs.
Improvisation
Learn to develop the spontaneous aspects of creativity to collaborate effectively with peers.
Directing
Learn the skills necessary for directing, including reading a script, casting, rehearsing, and staging.

When You Graduate
Preparation for any role
Graduates with theatre minors learn how to bring creativity and discipline to any field. They leave Trinity able to bring down a house on their own, share the limelight with others, and improvise and critically think through any situation. These skills keep them from waiting in the wings—instead, they’re ready to step into the spotlight after they take their final bow at Trinity.
